We have met so many amazing families through our work with operation love reunited.  This shoot was no exception.  Meet Trista.  Her husband David, is a Major in the US air force.  He has been in Afghanistan for 9 months, and will be coming home in about 6 weeks.  Trista contacted us because she wanted to do a photo session to surprise David.  We were happy to oblige.

Look at how gorgeous she is!

All I can say is that they better have a plane ready, to bring David home, once he  receives these pictures. Thank you to David and Trista for serving our country.  We appreciate all that you do for us and for our families.

So my son has some pretty cool friends. Avery and Josh have known each other since they were in 1st and 2nd grade. It’s pretty cool when, as a mom, you get to watch great things happen for your kids’ friends too. Avery asked if I wouldn’t mind coming out to take a few images for him at his gig. He was the opening act at Pop’s on Thursday night. I love music, so of course I wanted to go and I took my son and one of his friends with us. Avery’s mom drove us to the East Side and hit the club. The music on this slideshow is Avery’s music. I think they are pretty talented. Leave them some love, people.May I introduce you to DJ Cody Codes and Avery:

We seriously just spent the best 2 days of our photography journey with the most amazing people. Blair, Suzanne and Adam were crazy amazing. We learned so much. You are going to be seeing some big changes from us. BIG. We hope you stick around for the ride. Thanks for hanging with us this far! It has been quite a journey and we are excited about what comes next. We are so grateful for each of you for the role you have played in our lives and our photography experience! Bless you for standing up for us, in front of us, behind us lifting us up, under and over us when we needed you and next to us all the while. We appreciate you all so much! I am not sure how it happens.  How do 14 years flash by in a a blink of an eye?  When my niece, Kellie was born, Ken and I did not have children, nor did we plan to have any.  So, she was the closest thing to a child of my own that I thought I would have.  My sister was single at the time and a full time college student.  Those years of Katie finishing college while raising this beautiful little girl where to say the least challenging.  But, some of the absolute best years of my life.  I was blessed and honored to be a part of helping my sister raise our Kellie Bean.

Now here we are two weeks away from Kell’s 8th grade graduation. I just really can’t believe it. Angela and I took her out yesterday for her 8th grade photo shoot. You can see by her portraits that she is absolutely beautiful. But, what I am most proud of is how amazingly beautiful she is on the inside as well. She is independent, confident, respectful, responsible, intellegient, funny, sweet, creative and, well, I could go on and on an on. Do you think I am a proud Aunt? Well, I am. I am also beyond proud of my baby sister who is the most wonderful mother and the one responsible for the wonderful young lady that Kellie has grown up to be. I love you guys so much! I cannot wait to see what highschool has in store for you Kell. St. Francis Borgia is lucky to have you and St. Bridget’s will never be the same without you. I love you! Aunt Kellie

Some since Kindergarten and some as “recently” as since high school, they have been arm in arm. What a blessing they are to each other! No longer living close enough to see each other every day, they meet up several times a year just to reconnect. This visit included us. We get it. We get that girlfriend thing. Our whole business is built on its solid foundation! We are now just two more of “The Girls”. We are so grateful to be doing something that we love, helping people to stay connected through pictures. We are feeling so blessed to have made six new friends and cannot wait to see where and when our paths cross again! May you walk arm in arm for decades to come!

Angela & Kellie

I really don’t know how they did it.  But, Marty & Jen managed to put together a perfect wedding day in just 3 months.  It has been a whirlwind romance to say the least.  First of all, let me say, Marty is my (Kellie’s) youngest brother.  He met Jen on a blind date when they were set up by our Aunt Marsha.  (The same Aunt Marsha who set me up with my husband 21 years ago.  Yes, she has a gift.)   After dating for a bit, Marty and Jen took a dream trip to Alaska, where  Marty proposed, and Jen happily accepted.   They planned for a wedding maybe in the fall of 2013, but our brother Rob, a Chief Warrant Officer in the US Army, found out he was being deployed for the 5th time, this time to Afghanistan.  Now, if you know us 5 Green kids, we are tight.  And Marty just could not have his wedding without his big brother being there.  So, Jen and Marty decided they could do it.  They could plan a wedding in three months, so that all of us could be there.   They did an amazing job!  The wedding was beautiful, Jen was gorgeous, Marty was quite handsome, and the day was full of love and special memories.  Thank you Jen & Marty for letting us capture your day.  We wish you many years of happiness, love and blessings.  ~Kellie & Ang

So, Ang and I were honored to be asked back to photograph our 4th year of St. Baldrick’s “Be Brave and Shave” event at Helen Fitzgerald’s.  It is such an awesome event filled with such emotion.  One minute we were in tears mourning the children who fought so hard, but did not make it.  The next minute, we are over joyed to meet the teenager who had cancer as a toddler, and is now completely cancer free.  The families are amazing.  They are full of joy, and pride, and hope and enormous amounts of strength.   This event always rejuvenates us, puts our lives and our little problems into perspective.  How lucky and blessed are we that our children are healthy and alive and with us.  It is a grand reminder to not sweat the small stuff.   To cherish every minute we have.  We pray always for healing for these children and strength for their families.  We are truly humbled and honored to be a small part of this event every year.  We would like to once again thank Y98 & the Phillips and Company morning show for their fabulous job emceeing the day.  And of course, thanks to Brett Syberg and Helen Fitzgerald’s for letting all of us completely take over their restaurant for an entire day.

There really is very little in this life more exciting than expecting your first baby.  So, when Kelley contacted us and asked if we could do a maternity session for her, we were thrilled.  Kelley & Matt will be married 10 years this summer, and are expecting their first baby, a boy, in about 6 weeks.  I cannot tell you how much fun we had on this shoot.  You can just see & feel the love that Matt & Kelley have for each other.  This is one lucky little baby to be coming into the world with two such awesome people for parents.  Kelley & Matt, we are so happy for you both!  We cannot wait to meet, and photograph, your little man.  ~K & A

So I’ve been watching a live webinar by Sue Bryce, an award winning photographer in Australia. I have tried to catch as much as I can while taking care of sick kiddos and trying to get ready for our shoot today. I have had so many “DUH!” moments! Case in point, I set up a light today and took some images of my lovely daughter. What do you see?

Yeah, that image on the right… full of self confidence, lovely, slimming… she looks so happy and amazing!
So glad that changing up a pose could change up how she sees her self.
Those are not liquified or warped. No body changing here. Just simple positioning changes.

There is nothing like making someone look and feel beautiful.
It is the ultimate high.

Here’s a little something that I have recently started to work on… DIRTY MUGGS

It is a lot different than our normal photo  shoots but I have to tell you, I’m loving every minute of it.

I have never met a more genuine, loving group of people and they PERFORM.  I’m talking old school, take down the house PERFORM.
