It’s all about family……

I love my family.  Of course I am referring to my wonderful husband and my two great kids, but I am also referring to my 4 siblings and my parents.  We have always been close.  Even when we were kids and beat each other up, we were close.  We have celebrated every holiday together, and almost all birthdays.  We all live near each other, except for my brother in the Army, whom we miss terribly, but talk to as often as possible.   My Mom and Dad made sure that we valued each other, and laid the ground work for some great family traditions that we all cherish.

So, why am I telling you all of this.  Well, I want people to know that about me.  I am proud of my family.  I am reflecting on this today, because over the weekend I got to spend some time with my middle brother.   He is a pilot of a tow boat.  So he is on the boat for a month, and then off for a month.  We don’t get to see him too often, but when he has the chance, he is anxious to spend time with his nieces and nephews.  I think this is AWESOME!   And the kids do too.   They can’t wait to see their “Uncle Johnny”.     So he had just gotten off the boat that he had been on for 7 weeks, and took the time on Sunday to come into town, go to not one but two volleyball games, and then take all of the kids (6 of them) out for dinner, by himself!   He rocks!   So here are a few pictures from Sunday fun with Uncle John.   Thanks John.   They had a fantastic time!  Kell

Thank you for sharing, Kellie!! This brought tears to my eyes – so very special!! I am really missing my little brother today…it’s his birthday. He’s in the Philippines, and since their horrible typhoon a few days ago, no one has heard from him or his girlfriend. Anyway – no news is good news, right? :) Thanks again for sharing!! I hope and pray that my kids have this kind of lifelong relationship!
Hugs,
Heather

Aww, thanks Heather. I really did luck out in the family department. I have a sister who is really one of my best friends, and 3 of nicest men in the world for brothers. I hope that your brother is ok, and that you hear from him soon.

You know how I feel… I have adopted the whole lot of you. I feel blessed just to be among you.
Love.

Ironically – we just heard from my brother and his girlfriend – they are fine, and are visiting Korea! :) HUGE sigh of relief!

So cool! There is another one of those grins on Charlie’s face. What is going on in that little mind of his behind that grin? I can only imagine. I myself can’t wait for the holidays, because I know I will get to see all my brothers and sisters and my Aunt and Uncle from California. This gets me even more anxious to see them.

I am not sure what is behind that smile, Shirl. But he does have a cute little devilish grin. I love it.
Heather, so glad you brother is ok.
Ang, you know you are an honorary Grelmore. LOL.
